Introduction
An integrated organization composed of interrelated sections with defined roles is one of the basic factors in HTCC dynamic and flexible operation. HTCC includes the following main Five;
Is the major section of the company, as it resembles a driving motor for the main undertaken activities of building, construction. It is the largest section of the company since almost a hundred individuals of staff and manpower follow it that form real productive human pillars to the company. It includes Projects Managers, Engineers, Safety Officers, Foremen, Supervisors (Foremen Assistants or Right Hands), Craftsmen (Carpenters, Masons, Steel Fixers, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, Scaffolders, etc), and Labors.
It is composed of four units; tendering unit, estimating unit, quantity-surveying unit, and procurement unit. Tendering Unit follows a tendering process from the start as of acquiring the targeted tender documents to receiving the results of the same tender. It receives support from the Estimating Unit and the QS Unit for pricing matters. The Estimating and QS Units play a supportive role to the Tendering Unit during tenders, play an essential monitoring, and control role during implementation of the works. Their role also includes Contract Administration and Planning, as an essential support to Projects Section.
Is composed of Accounting Unit and Budgeting Unit. Accounting Unit maintains all book keeping activities, control and monitoring of company’s accounts, and salaries and wages process. Budgeting Unit follows up issuance of different types of bank bonds and guarantees in addition to securing any necessary budgeting for larger scale projects.
This section includes the Secretary Unit, Admin Assistants, Purchase Unit, and Stores. The secretary unit includes the central office secretaries and the secretaries and document controllers of the projects at site offices. Administration Assistants includes the company’s representatives (mandoubs) and IT clerk. Purchase Unit is responsible for providing all work-consumable and daily supply items to office and projects. It also follows up the Stores of the company.
HTCC has three major workshops; The Carpentry Workshop; The GRC/Gypsum Workshop; and The Plant and Equipment Workshop. The Carpentry and GRC/Gypsum Workshops provide work to in house projects as well as direct sale or supply and fix to the market. All HTCC’s workshops are located in the Industrial Area of Doha.
